2022 Arthritis Golf Fundraiser
The Orrin J. Eaton Arthritis Golf Tournament was held on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Quail Hollow Golf & Country Club, 1822 Old Turnpike Rd., in Oakham, MA 01068. The Odd Fellows of Massachusetts have been supporting the Mass Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation in this annual event since 1988. This year we had 6 teams of 4 golfers each and were able to raise a total amount of $5,849.00.
Arthritis is a general term used for conditions that cause joint pain, stiffness, swelling and other joint symptoms. Osteoarthritis is the most common type of Arthritis. In joints with Osterarthritis, the protective cartilage between bones starts to wear away. Arthritis can affect the elderly, young adults and children. There are many types of Arthritis: Osteoarthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Fibromyalgia, Gout, Juvenile Arthritis, Lupus, Psoriatic Arthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Over 54 million people are afflicted with Arthritis, nearly 50,000 of whom are children in the United States alone.
